Welcome to Bremen!
The European Coral Reef Meeting 2006 in Bremen brings together leading coral reef scientists and students to present and discuss state-of-the-art scientific results, education and outreach.
The medium size of the meeting with two parallel sessions gives participants the opportunity to get a good overview over current developments in coral reef research. We expect over 250 participants, which allows lively discussions and the opportunity to meet colleagues in a pleasant atmosphere.
The programme covers all aspects of research, use and management of reefs with a focus on European and European partner contributions from tropical shallow waters to high-latitude deep continental shelves.
Some highlights will be on the Indian Ocean and adjacent seas taking into account the wealth of studies conducted in response to the 1998 bleaching event and 2004 tsunami, but all aspects of basic and applied research will be presented and topics will cover a wide range of current reef research.
Thanks to all participants of ISRS 2006 Bremen!
We all had a wonderful and most interesting time
hosting this special event and are looking forward
to see all of you at the 11th ICRS 2008 in Florida!
