Presentation guidelines.

General rules for presentations

All presenters of talks or posters are required to register for the conference by 31th July 2006 at the latest. We will assume that failure to do so means you have withdrawn your presentation and the abstract will not appear in the abstract volume.

Oral presentations

For oral presentations 2 separate lecture halls in building HS are available. Each speaker has been allotted 15 minutes for an oral presentation and 5 minutes for discussion. All speakers are kindly requested to strictly observe the allotted presentation time. The official language for presentation is English. Computer-based presentations in PowerPoint-format are preferred and recommended, both on PC- and Macintosh-platforms.

A digital projector and overhead projector (OHP) will be available for each presentation. A slide projector can be made available on request. In preparation for technical trouble, we recommend that you bring your presentation documents on OHP sheets (transparent sheets) in addition to your original data.

Please create and save your file name in accordance with the rule below:

Session-Number_Last-Name.ppt
(e.g. "01_Haasbach.ppt")

We recommend that you send the file ahead of the conference to this adress: ISRS 2006 Bremen presentations submission.
Please email files as attachments with 'Oral presentation' as your subject line.
In case of files larger than 10 MB, put it on an FTP-server, from where the organisers can download it.
Also this free webservice is convenient for transfer of larger files: http://www.yousendit.com

Please try to prepare your presentation as efficiently as possible, e.g don't use images with a resolution higher that 1024x780, anything larger slows down the presentation and does not improve quality of the screen display.

Please bring your presentation file saved on the following media: USB Memory, CD-ROM, CD-RW.
Other media, like Floppy Disk, DVD, ZIP, and Flash Card will NOT be acceptable.

Presenters who are going to use for a computer-based presentation are requested to come to the preview room for data registration as soon as possible after you arrive.

Presenters of the sessions on the morning of September 19 are kindly requested to send the files at least one day before the meeting.

Poster presentations

The conference programme will include two poster sessions when presenters are expected to be available to discuss their work. Posters will be displayed in the lobby of the Lecture Hall. The official language for presentation is English.

Posters should be prepared with the title of the presentation, author's name(s) and affiliation(s) in portrait style according to the poster board format.
Poster boards measuring 1250 mm (height) by 900 mm (width) will be provided together with pushpins for fixing. Please let us know if you require more than one board (these may be available on request).

Each poster presenter has been allotted two presentation days for her/his poster. Poster presenters should stand by their posters to explain and discuss their posters during the scheduled discussion time.

A CD-ROM of conference presentations will be available at the conference. Poster presenters are encouraged to provide an electronic version of their poster in PDF-format to be included in the CD-ROM, NO LATER THAN September 15. Please send files to this adress: ISRS 2006 Bremen presentations.

Poster_Session-Number_Last-Name.pdf
(e.g. "Poster_01_Haasbach.pdf")

Please email files as attachments with 'CD-ROM Poster' as your subject line. This facility is being offered solely as a means of easing dissemination, but is not obligatory. The conference organisers will not edit files in any way, copyright will remain with the author, and the conference organisers can take no responsibility for subsequent use made of this material.

Publication

Publication of presentations in "Coral Reefs", the Journal of the International Society for Reef Studies is encouraged.
